Lise Watier Warehouse Sale

Apparently this sale has been going on for years. Call me a bad Montrealer, but this is the first I heard of it. Ah well, better late than never, right?

There is both a Spring and a Fall version of this sale, taking place over several weekends. For the Spring one, this weekend coming up is the last one, so I thought I should post about it before it's too late.

The Lise Watier warehouse sale is similar to the l'Oréal one, but...better. They have ALL of their regular line available - makeup, skincare, fragrances - for anywhere between 40% and 75% off. They have a lot of pre-made kits, which offer incredible savings, more so than purchasing individual items. You just have to judge whether all the items are to your liking. Of course, the regular items were all about half-price, so that's nothing to sneer at.

They also have items from past limited edition collections, and these are often the most discounted items - a lot of eyeshadow palettes were going for 10$ to 15$, for example.

They have testers for everything, and the staff seem to actually work for Lise Watier on a regular basis, so they will answer your questions cheerfully, as opposed to the l'Oréal sale staff, who largely seem bitter and annoyed. Plus you don't need an invite, which is nice. I went two weekends ago and the line-up was maybe 2 minutes long, but the "bouncer" told me that it's usually longer, maybe a 20-30 minute wait.

In short, I'm really glad I went. I picked up a lot of things I was curious about but was hesitant to buy at full price, as well as some items that just jumped into my basket. :P Next time I want to get more of their regular eyeshadow palettes, and maybe some skin stuff.

Eyeliners, creme shadow, khol, loose eyeshadow, fixing liquid, glitter liner, crease brush.

Bronzing body oil, pressed powder, blush, anti-pigmentation cream (freebie for spending over a certain minimum).

Lipglosses and lipstain pens.

Past limited edition palettes.

Past limited edition nail polishes.

The sale takes place at their warehouse: 5600 Cote de Liesse Ville Mont-Royal, Quebec H4T 4L1.

The remaining hours and days are: Saturday, April 14th, between 9am and 5:30pm, and Sunday, April 15th, between 9:30am and 4:30pm. They accept credit, debit and cash.

Let me know if you have questions! (I have to head out, but I will try to hunt down my receipt to I can post prices for these items.)

I couldn't locate my receipt, but I have some of the packaging, so I will do my best to give you a breakdown.

One set was 20$, and contained the black eyeshadow quad, the eyeshadow duo, the bright green eye shine liner, the purple glitter liner, and the khol. Just to give you an idea of the savings, the khol alone is normally 18$.

Two sets at 15$ or 18$ each, which contained an assortment of five lip stains and a gloss. For comparison, ONE lip stain is normally 20$.

The last set was 20$, and contained the fixing liquid, the loose shadows, the creme shadow wheel, the opal-blue liquid liner and the crease brush. Just the creme shadow wheel is 20$ at regular retail.

As far as individual products go: the blush was 14$, the lipglosses were 12$, the eye shine eyeliner was 12$, the pressed powder was 6$, the bronzing oil was 3 or 4$, the nail polishes were 5$ (3$ for the mini), and the blush/eyeshadow palette was 10$. The anti-pigmentation cream was free.

Girl Cave

I've been struggling to get some posts up, but this honestly wasn't the best week for it. A heavy workload accounts for part of it, but my time was also largely eaten up by the basement reno. The hubby has been building it over the past few weeks, and just recently it got the point where I can contribute - namely, moving all my crap down, organizing, moving furniture around and thinking about decor. Since the Girl Cave will be largely devoted to makeup (and books!), I thought I would post a little look into how it came along.

As you can see, this was an unfinished basement. The picture on the left was after the reno had already started - the subfloor and partition was not there originally.

On the right, you can see my lovely man, wielding some sort of power tool. RaaaaAAAwwwr.

This is the other room, which will be a guest room and a place to keep our elliptical. (Perhaps we will now use it!) The empty space there is a closet.

The way the Girl Cave looked a couple of weeks ago. The paint is this gorgeous mix of blue and seafoam, Palladian Blue from Benjamin Moore. (The paint in the other room is darker and more gray-toned, called Piedmont Gray.) They both change colors dramatically depending on the lighting. The basement actually gets a lot of light for a room of that sort, so I'm pretty happy. Though figuring out the placement for the makeup vanity was a struggle.

And then it was done!

The floors are commercial-grade floating floors, called Mocha Teak. Since we plan on getting dogs soon, they needed to be pretty indestructible, as well as pretty to look at.

A few different placement options. One side will be a little reading/napping nook, with the vanity in the middle, and the bookcases will be built-in on the other side. Just had to decide on where to put the couch.

And now....the organizing! Where's a Virgo when you need one? :P
