A quick look at my Girl Cave/Boudoir. Let me know if you want to see something in more detail - I can do a picture post, or more specific videos if you prefer.

    1. Thank you so much for your lovely comment! It's very encouraging. I was very nervous, but I did really enjoy the process of making these videos, so as long as people will get something out of them, I will happily keep making them. =)

Ooops, forgot to ask, where did you get those gorgeous blue containers for your brushes? That's my favorite color!

    1. Those were from a little Japanese-style tea cup set, that Chapters/Indigo carried several years ago. They're not around anymore, unfortunately, but I'm always keeping an eye out for similar cups from places like Pier1 and Homesense. I will post if I find something!

Thanks, Maggie! I'll stop at Pier 1 today & see what they've got. Again, your videos are so informative & you are a natural, you don't appear nervous at all :)

  4. Maggie, this video was so thorough and well planned out, that I felt like I was walking beside you getting a personal tour, lol! OK....colour me impressed, girl! Now THAT is one major makeup collection! I can now completely understand how your husband got tired of trying to find your bedroom under all that & decided to do something about it -- and what an incredible job you guys did! I'm also so happy to know that I'm not the only one who keeps the boxes AND has way more makeup than one person should, lol! I think I need to show my husband this video of yours, so he can finally admit that I'm NOT nuts!!! Now I really can't wait until we get together for our girl-fest, although I can't imagine what you could possibly need to purchase that you don't already have! Love, love, love this ... both the collection/storage & the video!

PS: I'm presently in the throes of creating some unique storage for my stash as well...my husband has been fed up with my stuff for years as well!

    1. My shaky cam didn't make you want to vomit? :P I ran it through a stabilizing program, but the results were uncomfortably uncanny. I figured motion-sickness was better than feeling creepified.

I think you should enter "makeup collection" into the youtube search engine and sit your hubby down to view the results. He will off his chair, I think, lol!

Thank you so much for the love, and I can't wait to see what you come up with for your stash!

I am equally torn when I see makeup collections like this - half of me experiences MAJOR envy and wishes I had a collection this large (so many pretty things! And just looking at it all organized makes me giddy :P), while the other half knows that having a collection like this would put me in total meltdown mode. I get worked up enough already knowing that half my blush collection isn't getting as much love as it should! It's definitely a fine line for me, because I LOVE the thought of it, but I know my brain would explode if I really put myself in this situation. Boo :( Anyway, I adore the way you've got this all arranged Maggie, seriously the OCD part of me is giving serious applause lol - and your girl cave in general is just so awesome, I'd die to play in there (oh the fun I'd have!! :)

    1. Lol! It's a fine line for me as well - but mostly because it drives me mental not to have things neat and even, so I'm constantly trying to find ways to be better organized.

Ah, if you ever come out to Montreal, we need to make a "play" date. ;)

  6. Oh, I absolutely LOVE YOUR COLLECTION. wow, wow, wow. How do you decide what to wear every day? As another commenter wrote, I have minor meltdowns at the moment realising how much I have that doesn't get enough love (though that didn't stop me from ordering more online this weekend... oops!) I love how organised everything is, and how tidy your drawers look. I have one of those tall Alex drawer sets for some of my bpal and nail polish - they are wonderful! Love your blog :)

    1. Thank you!!

On days I don't want to think about it, I just reach for one of the Inglot or other palettes on the top of the vanity and slap those on. Otherwise I open a drawer and see if anything inspires me. And then of course if I'm testing something new I use that. :)

The Alex uits are SO awesome. I just wish they had one that had just the drawers that are less deep, which is exactly the right height for nail polish. The I wouldn't have to split out the nail polishes. (My Virgo rising is twitchy about that, lol!)

  7. Ohhhh my goodness, this is the first post I've read on here, but it's amazing! For some reason, this collection doesn't overwhelm me the way some large collections do -- I've been into the downsized collections lately. But I think this collection seems manageable because you know exactly what everything is and it's SO well organized! Great system!

    1. Thank you! =)

I love downsized collection videos! My favorite is probably the one that Viviannadoesmakeup did recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCAekBuz2RU

  9. Maggie, you totally inspired me to do this vanity look! I'm looking online for the VIKA AMON.. and was just wondering which one you bought? is it the plain table top white? for 45.99 or the vika amon table top gloss white for 35.99?
